Commitment to the Environment

At Barngey's, we believe that a business is only as good as how it treats its environment, wildlife, and global surroundings.  Being in the TCG industry we know that it can be difficult to avoid plastics (sleeves, deck boxes, dice, etc). However, we will avoid the use plastic unless absolutely necessary and will follow the classic "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" adage.

Here are the steps we are taking to reduce our impact to the environment:

• The cardboard from booster boxes/decks will be repurposed for shipping purposes as a way to thicken/strengthen a package.  Plastic top loaders/card holders will be avoided if possible.  Any scrap will be recycled or composted.
• Empty booster packs opened at the top will be used to ship cards to avoid using plastic sleeves when possible.
• We will avoid the use of plastic bubble wrap/styrofoam which are harmful to the environment and especially to the ocean.  Instead we will use crinkled paper to keep items in place and protected during shipment.
• Plastic bubble wrap/styrofoam will only be used when we receive it as a result of ordering products - this aligns with our policy of Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.

 Environmentally Friendly tips for players:

• See if you could fix it (i.e. a broken deck box) before throwing it away and always consider if it can be recycled (i.e. cardboard packaging)
• Consider using non-plastic card storage such as cardboard boxes, metal tins, wooden boxes, etc
• Consider using metal dies instead of plastic ones
• Take care of your supplies to extend its longevity and prevent it from going to the landfill
